2021 Consultative Forum

In 2021, the EASO Consultative Forum, with the endorsement of the Executive Director is setting out an ambitious programme of activities spread throughout the next months.

Preliminary description of the CF activities for 2021

This year, different types of activities are proposed to be implemented, namely:

  • Information webinars
  • Workshops
  • CF thematic meeting
  • The annual CF Plenary meeting

Information webinars is a new activity this year. The main aim of these short sessions to present recent tools, reports, and products as developed by EASO to the Consultative Forum. During May, the Consultative has successfully organised 2 information sessions on the EASO Case-Law database attracting more than 55 participants.  More information on this webinar including the recording of one of the sessions can be found here. In September, the Forum will organise another series of information webinars on tools related to vulnerable applicants.

Workshops: EASO’s Consultative Forum will be involved in a research project led by our Information and Documentation System  colleagues called “Who is Who in Asylum?” The aim of this project is to map all entities involved in the field of asylum and reception.  With a view of involving CSOs in this research endeavour, a workshop will be organised in the design phase of the project as well as at a later stage to present the preliminary results most likely taking place in Q1 of 2022.

This year, the thematic meeting will focus on EASO’s training activities and will be organised on 23 June. The Training and Professional Development Centre is currently working on upgrading and restructuring its training offer, in line with European Sectorial Qualification Framework. As part of these efforts, the intention is to establish a more structured consultation process with selected Consultative Forum Members in order to enhance EASO's training materials with their knowledge and expertise.

Finally, the annual CF Plenary meeting will follow at the end of the year. Similar to last year, it is likely that it will have to be organised online. A survey has been launched, asking Consultative Forum members for their preferences followed by a Concept Note that will be presented to Management with proposals for the Plenary Meeting.
